1st Heaton Norris Scout Group is one of twenty-two scout groups in Stockport District, which is part of Greater Manchester East County, which is part of the Worldwide Family of Scouting. Scouting prepares young people with skills for life, and that is what we strive to achieve with all our young people.
Within 1st Heaton Norris, we have a Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack and a Scout Troop. All three sections meet at our scout hut each Monday night.
Our Beavers usually spend half the night playing games and the other half doing crafts. To achieve their Chief Scout's Bronze Award, Beavers must complete 6 Challenge Badges and 4 Activity Badges
Cubs build on what they learnt in Beavers with more adventurous activities. To achieve their Chief Scout's Silver Award, Cubs must complete 6 Challenge Badges and 6 Activity Badges
Scouts take part in lots of outdoor events, and develop their teamwork and leadership skills. To achieve their Chief Scout's Gold Award, Scouts must complete 9 Challenge Badges and 8 Activity Badges
Camps are held either on weekends or during the school holidays. Some camps are indoors, others are outdoors. Some are for the whole group, district or county, others are just one section.
